Celtics Win Game 3, Take 3-0 Lead in NBA Finals

Boston One Win Away from Banner 18

The Boston Celtics are one victory away from capturing their 18th NBA championship after securing a 106-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Wednesday in Dallas.

The Celtics, who finished the regular season with an impressive 60-22 record, have dominated the Mavericks throughout the series, holding them to just 32.1% shooting in Game 3. Boston's suffocating defense and efficient offense have the Mavericks on the ropes, with the Celtics needing just one more win to clinch the title.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way for Boston in Game 3, combining for 46 points and 17 rebounds. Tatum, who is averaging 29.3 points per game in the Finals, scored 29 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in Game 3. Brown added 17 points and 9 rebounds.

Luka Doncic, the Mavericks' star player, struggled to find his rhythm in Game 3, shooting just 6-of-21 from the field and finishing with 26 points. The Mavericks, who are making their first NBA Finals appearance since 2011, have been outplayed in every aspect of the game by the Celtics.

The Celtics will have a chance to close out the series in Game 4 on Friday night in Dallas before returning home for Game 5, if necessary, on Monday night.
